Linda Luo

Linda Luo first encountered golf in Canada in 2005 and began competing in the Maple Leaf Junior Tour (MJT) in 2007, securing multiple placements. In 2008, she relocated to Florida, USA, to join the U.S. Mission Hills Golf Academy for systematic training and academic planning. During her time in Florida, Luo won several local FCWT tournaments and the American Junior Golf Association's AJGA championships. After her victories, nearly 50 Ivy League and prominent U.S. universities, including Yale, Princeton, Stanford, Duke, University of Michigan, University of Pennsylvania, Cornell, and University of North Carolina, extended admission invitations to her. Ultimately, she chose a full scholarship to the University of Michigan, Ann Arbor (North American University overall ranking 13th) - becoming the first Chinese recipient of this scholarship. During her college years, Luo served as the team captain and a main player, earning multiple awards for the university. Her personal best in competition is a score of 67.

2009

2009: Champion of the Deep Creek Golf Club Invitational; Winner of the Donald Ross Memorial Invitational; Runner-up at Golf Week’s invitational; Third place at AJGA Junior at Newcastle; Participant in the Nemacolin Junior Competition.

2010

2010: Champion of AJGA’s “Cleveland Junior Open”; Champion of AJGA’s “Ritz Sarasota”; Champion of FCWT-TPC Tampa Bay (67-74/141); Winner of FCWT-Feather Sound Open. In 2010, Luo represented China at the Golf World Cup held in Argentina, propelling China from a previous ranking of 35th to 15th. Among nearly 300 participants from various countries, her personal ranking stood at 20th.

2011-2013

2011-2013: Awarded the lowest average score and Best Newcomer Award for the University of Michigan golf team, setting a new record in the university’s “The Challenge at Onion Creek” competition with a score of 213 (69-70-74).
